Delivery can be affected by a number of factors, in particular heat. The Wine Advisor will not deliver wines when the temperature at point of departure, destination point or parts between is expected to be over 30 degrees Celsius during the expected delivery period.

Not all wine available on the website is necessarily in our cellar. There may be occasions when wine listed is being held by our wholesaler or the winery and this may delay your delivery.

Delivery addresses should be where someone is in attendance and can sign for the goods. We can arrange for deliveries to unattended addresses but in these instances require an "Authority to Leave" form to be completed. In these instances The Wine Advisor is indemnified from any loss or damage to wine left in this manner. Therefore we suggest you indicate a safe place not visible from the street and out of the sunlight.

General Information - Overseas Deliveries

Overseas wine delivery is available to many countries, usually with a door-to-door service. Delivery to your door includes customs clearance but excludes local government charges, duties and taxes that are the responsibility of the consignee. Insurance is available on request.

The Wine Advisor handles preparation of all necessary documentation for exporting the wine out of Australia.

Different specialist air freight companies are used depending on the destination. Delivery time can be anything from 4 days to a few weeks depending on the country, as customs clearance times can vary enormously. We will endeavour to notify you of any delays.

All exported wine is packed on polystyrene wine cartons that provide a degree of insulation and also prevent breakages. Cost of these cartons is AUD$25.00

Ordering Wine from Overseas

Select your wines as usual from the website. Email us at wine@wineadvisor.com.au with your order number. We will then give you a quotation on delivery charges, packaging costs and insurance options. In most cases the wine prices listed on the website will be reduced by approximately 20% as we are able to gain WET (Wine Equalization Tax) and GST (Goods and Services Tax) exemptions on most export orders. There are some instances where this is not possible. You will not be charged for the total cost until we receive confirmation of acceptance of the quotation back from you. But all charges must be settled before the shipment leaves our cellar.

Payment may be made by credit card (Visa, MC or Amex) or direct debit into our bank account. Email wine@wineadvisor.com.au for direct payment details.

Delivery Charges

Please note all freight charges are subject to confirmation. In many cases the delivery charge per carton reduces if there are multiple cartons to the same address. However, some countries have limits on the amount of wine that can be shipped on any single order.

The following prices give some indication of costs for shipping. All prices are per carton in AUD$. Each carton can contain up to 12 standard bottles.
