Currently on offer is the Rockbare Shiraz 2009 - $17.70. I've become a fan of Tim Burvill's wines which are predominantly of McLaren Vale origin. What's a bit special about this wine is that it will be given a 5 Star rating and has been voted as Top in Class from 306 wines tasted from the McLaren Vale, Langhorne Creek & Fleurieu Regions by Winestate magazine. This will be in their July/August magazine. But more importantly it tastes great! See this review from Campbell Mattison as well.
"It's a few years since I've tried Rockbare's 'standard' shiraz but I was keen to give it a whirl. It's pretty obvious as to why Rockbare is successful. It must do all manner of things right, but most importantly it gets it right in the bottle. This red is spot on. It's smooth, chocolatey, rich with blackberried fruit flavour and balanced, perfectly, from go to whoa. It has just the right amount of showy oak, just the right amount of richness, and encourages just the right amount of warm good feeling. There are eucalypt notes too and sturdy but not obtrusive tannin. It's excellent. 92 points" - Campbell Matison, The Winefront
